The BHVS is eager to encourage young researchers working on all aspects of research related to heart valves and heart valve disease.

As part of this initiative, the Society will host its fifth Young Investigators Session during the forthcoming Annual Meeting which will be held at the British Heart Valve Society Annual Conference, Institution of Engineering & Technology (IET Birmingham) Austin Court, Birmingham B1 2NP.

Young researchers are invited to submit a short (350 word) abstract of their research. Both clinicians and scientists studying for postgraduate qualifications (MD, PhD, or equivalent) are encouraged to take part and researchers with up to two year’s postdoctoral experience are also eligible. Abstracts covering all areas of research related to heart valves, including work at an early stage, will be considered.

The authors of the three best abstracts will be invited to give an oral presentation at the Annual Meeting of the Society and the abstracts will be published on the BHVS website

The three successful authors will receive free registration to the meeting and a prize (£150 book token) will be awarded to the best paper.

Important dates:

Final date for submission of abstracts: Tues 21st Aug 2018
Young Investigators will be notified of the result of the review, by: Fri 24th Aug 2018
Oral presentations: Fri 21st Sept 2018
