The first posting in this section are the records of the “Peacock Club”. These record the meetings of a group of distinguished physicians and surgeons from Guy’s, St Thomas and the Brompton Hospitals who convened at Guy’s Hospital approximately monthly from 21 April 1948 to 12 March 1956. These included Mr Russel Brock, later Lord Brock, who set up the club, Mr Kelsey Fry, Dr Waterfield, Dr Sokolow, Dr Baker and Dr Trounce. Dr Maurice Campbell was the first secretary and is important as the first editor of the British Heart Journal, later Heart, and for a series of papers on the natural history of unoperated valve disease.
